  <abstract>Este artículo examina la relación entre los sistemas tributarios y de prestaciones sociales y el bienestar subjetivo en países europeos, utilizando datos tanto a nivel micro como macro. A nivel micro, las transferencias netas se asocian de forma sólida y positiva con la satisfacción vital en la mitad inferior de la distribución de ingresos, mientras que los impuestos netos presentan asociaciones débiles o ligeramente negativas para el quintil superior de ingresos.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A nivel agregado, la carga tributaria se asocia negativamente con la satisfacción vital, pero esta relación es más débil, o incluso se anula, en países con alta eficacia gubernamental. En general, los sistemas tributarios y de prestaciones sociales inclusivos pueden mejorar el bienestar subjetivo cuando se combinan con una buena gobernanza.</abstract>
